Maggie Caris is a highly talented dual-code athlete whose height, athleticism, and versatility have underpinned her rise across both netball and Australian football. Hailing from Quantong near Horsham in Victoria’s Wimmera region, Caris stands at 190cm and is renowned for her reach, mobility, and strong competitive instincts.
An elite athlete with a background in netball, Caris has progressed through the high-performance pathway as a VIS scholarship holder, showcasing her potential at the highest levels. Her netball credentials were further recognised when she was named as a training partner with the Melbourne Vixens for the 2022 season, before earning selection in the Australian Under 21 squad in 2023.
Alongside her netball career, Caris has also demonstrated her athletic versatility in the AFLW system. Selected by the Melbourne Demons with their third pick in the 2020 AFLW Draft, she has shown significant promise as a developing tall, bringing strong ruck craft, the ability to hit the ball with both hands, and effective follow-up at ground level.
Caris’ netball career continued to gain momentum when she was signed as a replacement player for the Melbourne Vixens in 2025, going on to make her Suncorp Super Netball debut later that season. Her progress was further rewarded with selection in the Melbourne Vixens squad for 2026, marking another important milestone in her elite sporting journey.
