Isabel Bacon is a high-energy midfielder and rebounding defender whose explosive speed, endurance and tackling intensity have made her one of Richmond’s most exciting young talents. Drafted from the Sandringham Dragons and Vic Metro, Bacon impressed recruiters with her athleticism and versatility, featuring across half-back, wing and inside midfield throughout her junior career.
In her debut AFLW season in 2024, Bacon quickly established herself at senior level, playing 11 games for the Tigers and growing in confidence with each outing. Her aggressive contest work, ability to break lines and relentless defensive pressure saw her become a regular feature in Richmond’s rotations.
Building on that foundation, 2025 marked a breakout year for Bacon, where she played 12 matches and elevated her impact across midfield and half-back. Her consistent performances, strong disposal and trademark intensity earned her selection in the AFLPA 22Under22 Squad, recognising her as one of the competition’s rising stars.
With her speed, work rate and competitive edge, Bacon continues to develop as a dynamic and influential player in Richmond’s future.
Off the field, Bacon has a rich sporting background, having competed in basketball, netball, athletics, and cross-country before focusing on footy in 2022. She also spent part of her childhood in Vancouver, adding a global perspective to her grounded personality and leadership potential.
