Zoe Prowse is one of Australia’s most exciting emerging AFLW talents, combining height, mobility and competitive instinct to excel as a versatile key defender.
Selected by the Adelaide Crows with pick 17 in the 2021 AFLW Draft, Zoe quickly grew into a dependable force behind the ball, known for her aerial presence, clean hands and ability to shut down opposition tall forwards.
A product of South Australia’s elite talent pathway, Zoe starred with Sturt in the SANFLW, earning Team of the Year honours and All-Australian selection at junior level before stepping seamlessly into the AFLW environment. Her adaptability has been a hallmark of her career, transitioning from ruck and utility roles into a defensive specialist who reads the game with maturity.
Zoe delivered breakout back-to-back seasons in 2023 and 2024, playing every game and collecting consecutive Best Defensive Player awards for the Crows. In 2025, she added another layer to her game, spending time forward after establishing herself in the backline. The positional shift highlighted her versatility, as she impacted contests at both ends of the ground and contributed on the scoreboard, giving Adelaide valuable structural flexibility.
At the conclusion of the 2025 season, Zoe was traded to Essendon, beginning an exciting new chapter of her AFLW career with the Bombers.
Driven, disciplined and still only at the beginning of her football journey, Zoe is shaping as a standout young athlete in the AFLW.
