Amy Sligar is one of Australian netball’s most exciting emerging midcourters, renowned for her athleticism, versatility, and relentless work rate. Hailing from the Camden Netball Association, Sligar has steadily built her reputation at Suncorp Super Netball level through consistent improvement and impactful performances.

After making her GIANTS Netball debut in 2021, Sligar earned her first full Super Netball contract in 2022, where she stepped up when called upon and played an eye-catching role through the midcourt. Known for her speed, agility, and elite fitness base, she brings strong two-way running, defensive pressure, and attacking drive, seamlessly transitioning between roles to create opportunities for her team.

Sligar enjoyed a breakout season in 2024, playing 13 of a possible 14 games and being recognised with the Players’ Player award at season’s end. Her influence continued to grow, and she has since taken her game to another level, finishing third in the league for intercepts and cementing her place in the GIANTS’ starting seven. Her ability to impact both offensively and defensively has firmly established her as a key contributor and one of the competition’s rising stars.

Fresh off the back of another stellar season, Sligar has signed a one-year contract extension, committing her to GIANTS Netball until the end of the 2026 season, as she continues to evolve her game and build on an exciting Super Netball career.
